Under a moon as round as a drum, Tessa zipped over the crooked road to the hilltop castle. Her cape snapped flap-flap, her broom hummed brrrr, and the cold night smelled like pine needles. Three bats twirled beside her, squeaking a marching tune. “Faster, friends!” Tessa called.
The castle bells began to ding, not from the towers, but from the moon. Tessa laughed and followed the sound. Behind one pale moon crater, a tiny door swung open, spilling silver music across the sky. The bats had known the secret place all along! They danced through the doorway, and Tessa swooped after them, right on time for the parade that had been waiting above the clouds. Next time you spot that round moon, can you guess where the secret door is hiding?
