Every day after rain, Liora gathered fallen petals in her tin lunchbox and pressed them into color cards: poppy red, buttercup yellow, violet purple. She wanted to make a game no one had played before, a quiet game where the meadow itself gave the next clue. The wet grass brushed her ankles with silver drops as she laid her cards along the hill path.
Until one day, a pearly unicorn stepped from the leaf-shadowed trees and touched the first card with a golden horn. “What happens if I choose blue?” he asked. Because of that, Liora placed a cornflower card beside the path, and a bluebird swooped low, singing one clear note. Because of THAT, she added green, orange, and purple, and each color called something near: a butterfly, a daisy, a curled tree, a cloud.
