All morning, Della clung to the round cloud and watched the rain garden glimmer below. Plip, plop, plup went the bold drops into the puddle. She wanted one tiny plop of her own, but the air felt tickly and huge. Grass blades waved like green brushes. “I’ll go after the next wiggle,” she whispered.
The next wiggle came with a rainbow, bright as candy stripes. Della slid down, squeezed her eyes, and landed with a bloop! Della giggled so hard she made three new ripples. Next time you spot the puddle rings, can you guess where the duck is hiding now?
