🎨 How to color it

Color the owl warm cocoa brown, the pom-pom hat icy blue with white snowflakes, and the scarf cherry red with pale blue mitten patches. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big hat band, round belly, and wide scarf blocks, and do not worry if little hands color past the lines. Try making each snowflake around the owl a different soft winter color, like lavender, mint, and pale yellow.

Under a woolly-white sky, Tula tapped her claws on a cold branch: tick, tick, hush. She had invented a game called Snow-For-You. Each time a snowflake landed on her scarf, she whispered a kind thought and let the wind carry it away.

One flake was for the sleepy fox den. One was for the creek under ice. One was for the moon, waiting behind clouds. “No one has to know,” Tula said, and her breath made a tiny silver puff.

Then the wind turned soft as a wing. The flakes she had sent came drifting back, each one wearing a mitten shape in the air, waving hello. Far below, the fox den sighed warm, the creek tinkled, and the hidden moon brightened the snow. Next time you spot Tula’s snowflakes and mittens, can you guess which quiet gift is still floating by?
