🎨 How to color it

Color the tulip petals bubblegum pink, the tall stem fresh green, the two leaves minty green, and the tiny hearts cherry red. The big rounded petals and leaves are perfect for chunky crayons, and it is fine if little hands color over the thick black lines. Try making the heart doodles on the leaves a different red than the hearts on the petals, like the tulip is wearing secret badges.

The story behind this coloring page

Pippa’s Pocket Button — At the corner flower stand, Pippa rubbed a tiny red button in her pocket. Read the full story →

At the corner flower stand, Pippa rubbed a tiny red button in her pocket. She wanted to tell her first joke to the smiling tulip, but her knees made tap-tap sounds on the wooden crate. The tulip smelled like rain and candy. Pippa whispered, “Why did the seed giggle?”

Before she could answer, the button slipped out, plink! It rolled right between the leaves. The tulip bent close, and all its little hearts seemed to grin. A beetle popped up wearing the button like a fancy hat.

Pippa laughed so hard she finished, “Because it was a little nutty!” The beetle bowed. The tulip stood taller, proud as a parade. Next time you see those tiny hearts, can you spot where Pippa’s brave little button went plink?
