🎨 How to color it

Color the tulip blooms in coral pink, sunny yellow, and deep violet, with emerald leaves, sage stems, and a sky-blue ribbon bow. Use sharp colored pencils for the narrow stems and overlapping petals, working from the center bouquet outward so your hand does not smudge the tight lines. Try making the front tulip the brightest flower, then let the surrounding blooms shift into softer shades like a secret spotlight.

Under the glass roof, Tessa clipped one coral tulip and tucked it in her sleeve, meaning to give it secretly to her brother before the bell-ringing contest. The greenhouse smelled of wet soil and peppery leaves. She slipped out through the side gate, but the wind pinched her ribbon loose and sent it skittering along the cobbles.

Tessa chased it past the bakery steam and nearly stepped on a beetle wearing a crumb like a backpack. “Wrong road for secrets,” the beetle clicked, pushing the ribbon toward a flower cart with one crooked wheel. To pay for help tying her tulip safely, Tessa gave the cart girl her last honey mint. Then the beetle bumped a bucket, the cart girl laughed, and six extra tulips tumbled into Tessa’s arms.

By the clocktower steps, Tessa wasn’t carrying a secret anymore; she was carrying a burst of color too large to hide. Her brother took one tulip, the bell ringers took the rest, and the whole square smelled suddenly like spring rain. If you spot the wide bow holding everything tight, keep this between us: it began with one coral tulip tucked in a sleeve.
