🎨 How to color it

Layer deep teal and amber over the guitarist’s paisley shirt and pants, use honey brown for the main guitar, and set the brick wall in soft clay red with brass-gold spotlights. Because the clothing, hair, and guitar bodies are packed with small curls and leaf shapes, use sharp pencils and color one enclosed pattern at a time. Let the two sweeping music ribbons fade from violet to electric blue so they feel like sound moving through the studio.

Every evening, Reeve tuned the backroom guitars until the brick walls hummed, keeping a plain bone pick in his shoe because it had been Milo’s. He wanted the midnight audition behind the repair shop’s locked green door, but rain hammered the alley and the owner’s clock stalled at eleven. Because of that, Reeve played to keep his hands warm; because of that, every hanging guitar answered, thin and bright as wires in lightning. At last the door opened by itself, and the waiting pick struck the first chord.
