🎨 How to color it

Try ivory cake, rose-gold frosting shadows, emerald leaves on the flower stem, and deep teal accents in the ornate wrapper panels. Use sharp pencils for the tiny wrapper curls and border vines, then layer lightly along the frosting’s long S-curves to keep the swirl airy. For a luminous twist, shade the saucer from pale lavender at the center to midnight blue along the rim so the cupcake feels quietly spotlighted.

Every evening, Elowen breathed sugar-dust over the moon garden’s empty plate, polishing each curled groove until it smelled faintly of vanilla and rain. She wanted the night moths to find nectar before dawn, though they never noticed the small cupcake keeping watch beneath the glasshouse vines.

Until one evening, her cloth caught inside a saucer scroll and lifted a hidden seam. Beneath it rested one black seed, warm as a coal. Because of that, Elowen tucked it into the softest hollow of her frosting instead of saving it. Because of that, a stem rose through her quiet center, opening white bells filled with silver syrup just as the moths arrived, wingbeats whispering like paper.

By morning, no one had seen her give the garden its feast. Only the plate shone clean, smelling of vanilla and rain.
