🎨 How to color it

Color the guitarist’s wavy hair chestnut brown, his vest deep teal, the guitar honey amber, and the oversized flowers coral and cream. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny vine curls on his jacket, pants, and guitar body, saving broader marker fills for the shirt sleeves. For a lively twist, let the background vines shift from emerald to peacock blue as they climb around the guitar neck.

Every evening, Lucian crossed the empty conservatory stage with a pencil behind his ear, tracing vine paths across scraps of paper while the rain ticked on the glass roof. He wanted a game no one had played before: pluck one string, follow one curl, land on a flower, and invent the next chord before the echo died.

Until one day, his pencil slipped and drew a spiral straight onto his guitar. Because of that, the first note sprang bright as brass, and the painted leaves on his vest trembled under his fingers. Because of that, the stage vines answered, whipping into green ladders and loops, daring him to keep up. “Then run,” Lucian said, laughing, and chased the melody from peg to petal to fret.

At last he struck the final handmade rule: any path he finished became part of the song. The air smelled of wet stems and warm wood as the last chord landed, proud and shining, exactly where his pencil had first waited behind his ear.
