🎨 How to color it

Color the watermelon flesh bright coral, the rinds emerald and lime, the bowls sky blue, and the little hearts bubblegum pink. Use sharp colored pencils for the seed drops, wavy rind stripes, cube edges, and tiny doodle stars so the small shapes stay crisp. Try giving every “YUM,” “SWIT,” and “SWT” letter a different candy color, like a secret scoreboard for the snack game.

Under the art room’s skylight, Bryn pressed watermelon seeds into soft clay and made tiny tokens for a game he had just invented. The rules were simple: roll a token, trace where it stopped, and name the shape it made with the bowls, straws, leaves, and paper stars on the table. The room smelled like wet paint and sweet melon juice.

Soon, a crooked line became the Spoon Comet. Three drips beside a rind became the Rainy Crown. Bryn’s fingers were sticky, and his cardboard spinner wobbled, but he grinned each time someone whispered, “I made that one.”

Then the sun slid lower. Shadows of the fork, straw, and seeds stretched across Bryn’s chalk lines, adding new paths he had not drawn at all. “The game is answering,” he said softly. Handmade pieces and golden light finished the board together; can you spot which snacks might become the next constellation under the art room skylight?
