🎨 How to color it

Use sky blue for the driver’s shirt, charcoal gray for the steering wheel, tan for the seat belt, and pale yellow for the wide car window. These big, open shapes are great for chunky crayons, and it is fine if little hands color past the lines. Add one special stripe of orange or green on the seat belt latch to make that tiny buckle feel important.

Every day, Otto listened for click-click before rolling. He wanted to make one tiny banner all by himself, so he rubbed blue crayon on paper. Scratch, scratch. The paper smelled like wax.

Until one day, the strip was too long. Because of that, it slid across the seat. Because of THAT, it tucked right beside the shiny buckle. “I made it fit!” Otto whispered. At last, click-click held his banner snug and bright. Next time you spot the buckle, can you imagine Otto’s blue paper, scratch-scratch?
