🎨 How to color it

Color the EZRA letters deep navy, the curled scroll warm parchment tan, the feather quills chestnut brown, and the ink bottles smoky blue. Use broad crayon or marker fills inside the big block letters, then switch to a sharper pencil for the leaf veins, book bands, and feather cuts. Try making each ink bottle look a little different—one pale blue, one nearly black, as if Ezra has been testing secret inks.

The story behind this coloring page

Ezra’s First Brave Line — Every evening, Ezra sharpened quills in the high scribe loft and stopped before the long practice scroll. Read the full story →

Every evening, Ezra sharpened quills in the high scribe loft and stopped before the long practice scroll. He had set himself a tiny challenge: draw one line from top to bottom without lifting the feather. The room smelled of paper dust and cedar shelves, and the ink jars gave soft glassy clinks. Until one day, the smallest jar tipped over and moon-dark ink rolled toward the blank scroll.

Because of that, Ezra grabbed the nearest quill before the puddle reached the edge. Because of THAT, his hand made the line at last—wobbly, shining, and alive with silver specks. “Keep going,” whispered the loft wind through the leaves outside. So Ezra did, guiding the spill into the first letter of his name. When the candle burned low, four bold letters stood dry and bright. Next time you see the curled scroll and waiting quills, can you spot where Ezra’s first brave line began?
