🎨 How to color it

Try jade green for the triceratops, amber yellow for the triangle sun, smoky lavender for the crystal plants, and rust orange for the canyon rocks. Use sharp colored pencils on the many small triangles in the frill and legs, then fill the larger body panels with smooth, even strokes. For a secret-game look, color one tiny triangle on the frill in bright turquoise and echo that color on a crystal near the ground.

The story behind this coloring page

Under a sun that clicked like warm glass, Quen tapped three pebbles into a triangle and invented a game: find the next triangle before the shadow moved. The first was easy—a split leaf. The second hid in a cracked stone. Then Quen spotted a perfect dark triangle gleaming beyond the safe herd path, where the crystal canyon made the air smell dusty and sharp.

Quen stepped out. Chips of quartz nipped at their toes, and one pebble from the game rolled away forever. “Fair price,” Quen whispered, though the canyon answered with a tiny ting-ting-ting. The dark triangle was not a stone. It was an opening between three leaning crystals, and inside lay cool blue moss shaped into three more triangles, pointing home.

Quen carried no pebble back, only the secret rule: some games point back to you. If you trace the sharp little shapes around Quen, can you find the first triangle that ran away?
