🎨 How to color it

Color the bike cherry red, the girl’s helmet sunny yellow, her shirt sky blue, and the leafy tree in bright spring greens. The bicycle wheels have many thin spokes, so use a sharp pencil or fine-tip marker and color slowly around the circles. Try making the path pale tan with soft gray shadows under the tires, as if she just rolled through morning light.

The story behind this coloring page

By the river path, Pippa pressed two jar lids together and tied them to her handlebars with blue string. She had given herself one small challenge: make a bell that could call Papa from the meadow gate before the sun slid behind the trees. Clink-clink, it whispered, but not enough. The air smelled like wet grass, and her fingers felt sticky from pine sap.

She pedaled under the biggest tree, where leaves made a soft shush over her helmet. A round seedpod bounced from a branch, tapped the jar lids, and sent out one bright ting! Papa turned at once. “You made that?” he called. Pippa sat taller than her bike seat. Ever since then, bicycle bells ring clearest beneath leafy branches, and next time you see her hands on the handlebars, can you imagine that first bright ting?
