🎨 How to color it

Give her bunny ears soft lavender, her striped shirt sunny yellow and white, the basket honey brown, and the Easter eggs cherry red, sky blue, and grassy green. Use chunky crayons or markers for the wide egg shapes and shirt stripes, letting little hands stay inside the bold outlines only when they want to. Try making the egg in her hand extra special with a purple zigzag and one shiny gold stripe.

The story behind this coloring page

The Egg That Tapped Back — Every morning, Bree painted one slow stripe before snack. Swish, wait, swish, wait. Read the full story →

Every morning, Bree painted one slow stripe before snack. Swish, wait, swish, wait. She wanted the neatest egg for the spring shelf, but her brush always wiggled when the curtains flapped.

One day, an egg in the basket went tap-tap. Bree poked it with her brush. Tap-tap-tappity! Because of that, she waited instead of painting. Because of THAT, the egg rolled out, bumped the red jar, and made a tiny dotted trail across the table.

“Hey, I’m not finished!” Bree giggled. At last, she followed the dots and painted her stripe right between them. The egg sat still, proud as a button. Next time you spot the brush in Bree’s hand, can you guess which egg went tap-tap?
