🎨 How to color it

Color the leaf insect spring green, the giant monstera leaves deep emerald, the curving branch warm brown, and the hanging vines olive. Use chunky crayons or markers to fill the big leaf and wing shapes first, then add the smaller vine leaves after. Try making the insect’s wings a little lighter than the jungle leaves so its smiling face stands out in the middle.

Vira’s Green Door Game — Under a warm, wet leaf, Vira tapped three times. Tap, tap, tap. Read the full story →

Under a warm, wet leaf, Vira tapped three times. Tap, tap, tap. She wanted to win her new Green Door Game: find one leaf that opened when she guessed its secret name.

She stepped off her cozy twig and onto a slick vine. Drip! A rain bead splashed her nose, and she almost turned back. Then a big split leaf swung aside with a soft shhh. “Password?” hummed a tiny voice. Vira swallowed. “Brave-green,” she whispered.

The leaf opened to a hidden perch full of sweet moss smell and silver light. Vira brought back one glowing moss speck, but also a steadier step. Next time you see her between the vines, can you spot the green door she found after tap, tap, tap?
