On the round rug, with rain tapping tip-tip on the glass, Tamsin turned the last page of her library book very slowly. She wanted to finish before the sleepy cat woke and batted the bookmark away. The book smelled like paper dust and peppermint tea.
Something crinkled inside the back cover. Tamsin waited, then slid in one careful finger. Out came a thin blue card, no bigger than a leaf, with a tiny cloud pressed into it. “Shh,” whispered the card.
She tucked it into the front page, right above the little printed sky. The room grew still. Outside, the clouds parted into soft white puffs, and ever since, books read by windows keep a cloud or two inside for patient readers to find. Next time you see the open book, can you spot where Tamsin hid the sky?
