Every day, Pip the bakery mouse counted candles before the birthday cupcakes left the counter. “One, two, three—no nibbling!” he squeaked, tapping each wick with a crumb.
Until one day, he gave himself a tricky challenge: count only the cupcake with one candle, while wearing a sprinkle on his nose. Because of that, the sprinkle tickled. Because of THAT, Pip sneezed—piff!—and confetti popped from the ceiling like crunchy rain.
The cart rolled, the candle leaned, and Pip chased it through a sweet vanilla cloud. Finally, he bumped the wheel with his tail and stopped it beside the smiling cupcake. Next time you spot the one striped candle, check whether a runaway sprinkle is still hiding near Pip’s “piff!”
