🎨 How to color it

Color the bunny soft cream, the giant egg pastel teal with coral daisies, the tulips sunny yellow, and the bees bright gold with black stripes. Use sharp colored pencils for the egg’s tiny dots, zigzags, and flower bands, then switch to broader strokes for the bunny’s face and floppy ear. Try making the leafy border two shades of green so the corner daisies and swirling vines feel like a secret garden frame.

Before the sun warmed the tulip maze, Quilla thumped down the paths with one painted egg hugged tight, racing the bell that meant the spring gates would open. Every day, she tucked the biggest egg beside the white fence, brushed pollen from her whiskers, and vanished before anyone cheered.

One morning, a gold-striped bee spun out of a tulip cup, wings sticky with spilled nectar. “The hive lantern is going dark!” she buzzed, fizz-fizz, right against Quilla’s nose. Quilla could have kept running. Instead, she rolled the giant egg under the tall leaves, scraped a little hollow in its painted side with a twig, and let the bee pour in nectar that smelled like lemon candy.

Because of that, the egg glowed warm inside. Because of that, Quilla carried it to the fence instead of her usual hiding spot, where its shine guided the bee home through the swirl of vines and sleepy butterflies. When the gates opened, everyone gasped at the beautiful egg, never seeing the small hive lantern flicker back to life beyond the tulips. If you follow the bees around Quilla’s garden, can you spot where her quiet rescue began before the sun warmed the tulip maze?
