🎨 How to color it

Give the heart a cherry red body, the hard hat a sunny yellow, the tool belt a warm brown, and the traffic cone bright orange stripes. For little hands, use chunky crayons to fill the big heart and helmet first, then dab color into the tiny wrench and hammer only if they want. Add one proud silver sparkle to the belt buckle, like this builder made it all by hand.

The story behind this coloring page

Why Hearts Wear Tool Belts — Behind the little fence, Pip patted wood bits. Pat-pat! Read the full story →

Behind the little fence, Pip patted wood bits. Pat-pat! Tap-tap! He wanted to build one tiny door for the mouse tunnel. “Secret game,” he whispered. “Every tool gets a home.”

But the hammer rolled. The wrench clinked away. The nails went tickly-tick under his toes. So Pip cut two soft pockets, tied them to a strip, and buckled it around his middle. Everything stayed! Since then, builder hearts wear tool belts. Next time you see Pip’s pockets, can you spot which tool is ready to pat-pat first?
