🎨 How to color it

Color the kitten soft cream, the puffy bed cotton-candy pink, the yarn ball sunny yellow, and the star blanket lavender. Use chunky crayons for the kitten and bed, then switch to a sharper crayon or pencil for the yarn stripes and tiny paw prints. Try making every heart a different pink or red, as if the kitten’s silly game has scattered love all around the cushion.

Every evening after supper, Noodle patted his round bed twice—puff, puff—then tucked one yarn ball by his paws. He liked the sheepy smell of the knit blanket above him and the soft squish under his tail. Then one evening, he invented Nestball: every yarn ball must land in the bed before the clock ticked seven.

Because of that, Noodle batted the yellow ball so hard it bumped the wall with a bonk and rolled back. Because of THAT, three loose strings wriggled like silly worms, and Noodle pounced, spun, and flopped upside down. “Mine!” he squeaked.

At last the yarn tucked against his belly, the blanket drooped over the bed, and Noodle purred so loudly the tiny stars seemed to hum. If you spot the paw prints near his cushion, you’ll know exactly where Nestball belongs.
