At dawn, when the grass smelled wet and silver, Kip set himself a challenge: ten quiet kicks before the sun touched the far hill. Every day, he practiced beside the tall letter posts, tap-tap, pause, tap-tap, so softly even the beetles kept napping.
Until one day, after kick number nine, the ground answered: kuk. Because of that, Kip froze with one paw in the air. Because of that, a small echo bounced from the hollow hill, kuk-kuk, and the big K post seemed to hold the sound like a cup holds rain.
Kip whispered, “That belongs here.” He gave one last gentle kick, not louder, just truer. The flats hummed K all around him, and Kip stood very still, right where the morning had been waiting. Can you find the two K’s that kept his quiet sound?
