🎨 How to color it

Layer pearl white and blush pink through the ballerina’s petal tutu, use warm honey gold for the bodice filigree, and make the corner flourishes a soft sage green. Because the skirt, sleeves, bun, and pointe shoes are packed with tiny curls and teardrop shapes, use sharp colored pencils and color one repeated motif at a time. For a quiet twist, shade the outer skirt petals slightly cooler than the center so the tutu seems to open like a calm flower.

Before dusk, Seren pressed her slipper to the velvet alcove floor, listening for the low note that made the pattern hall feel whole. It was gone, so she crossed the cool marble rings, past walls smelling faintly of beeswax, and gave up the silver thread from her sleeve to mark her way back. At the hall’s farthest rosette, where no dancer stepped because it looked only decorative, a loose petal clicked. Under it waited a tiny brass reed, warm from holding silence. Seren carried it home in her palm, and the first note bloomed beneath her slipper exactly where she belonged.
