🎨 How to color it

Layer brushed steel and graphite on the robot face, electric blue in the circuit traces, copper on the small gears, and violet in the outer petal panels. Use sharp pencils for the narrow circuit paths and gear teeth, coloring matching left-and-right sections in the same session to keep the mandala balanced. Add a subtle teal-to-indigo glow inside the circular frame so the stern eyes feel lit from a mischievous control room.

Every night, Bram held perfectly still while the Signal Hall counted his left circuits against his right, click by click, smelling faintly of warm dust and oiled copper. He wanted another flawless tally before the midnight gong, so he ignored the tiny red button tucked beneath his chin—the one his builder had labeled USELESS, and the one Bram polished anyway.

Until one night a moth landed on it. Beep. Because of that, every gear-petal around him began transmitting gossip from the city clocks; because of that, the dignified antenna hubs started swapping knock-knock jokes with the weather tower. Bram tried to frown, but the hall answered with a chorus of delighted clicks.

Finally, he pressed the button again, not to stop it, but to give the jokes a rhythm. The gong arrived late, laughing in twelve bronze hiccups, and Bram knew why the button had always gleamed: it was not useless; it was his invitation. He held perfectly still while the Signal Hall counted him home.
