Under the high leaves, Fenn squeezed his round pillow and whispered, “One more hug, then nap.” But the pillow felt hot from the sun, so he slid from his hammock to fetch a cool moonleaf growing on the next branch. Shh—this is the secret part: sloths can hurry, but only in their minds. His claws went scritch, scritch, scritch on the bark while sweet flower smell tickled his nose.
Halfway back, a breeze snatched his blanket. Fenn traded his best sleepy stretch to catch it with one toe. When he flopped into the hammock, the moonleaf slipped under the pillow seam, and pop! Out rolled tiny folded notes, hidden where nobody had looked: “Share a squeeze,” “Pass a giggle,” “Save one hug for Beetle.” Fenn hugged the pillow once, then called the birds, beetles, and leaf-mice close. The joy was too big to keep tucked in. Next time you see that swirly pillow, can you guess which note is still hiding under Fenn’s paw: one more hug, then nap?
