Under the soft tick-tick of the drizzle bell, Junie lined up raindrops in the cloud counting room. She wanted the bell quiet before moon snack, but every drop she sorted made it ring again: ting, ting, ting.
She peered under stars, behind flower stamps, and between puffy cloud bins. Nothing. Then a tiny sneeze came from the round middle cushion. “Achoo!” said a folded wish, hiding where nobody looked because the center was supposed to be empty.
Junie tucked the wish into the nearest cloud, and the bell hummed like warm milk. Ever since, clouds keep wishes in their soft middles until rain can carry them down. If you listen to the tick-tick drops, which wish do you think this cloud is holding?
