Under the hot jungle sun, Pip swished his tail and made up a new game called Sky Trail. He nipped one leaf, stretched to the next branch, and tapped it with his nose. “Zoom, chomp, tag!” he called, while palm leaves clapped and crick-crackled overhead.
The game grew faster. Pip stepped around stones, ducked vines, and dropped little leaf bits as he dashed from tree to tree. No one saw the crumbs land beside the baby ferns, where the soil smelled damp and sweet.
Then a beetle with shiny blue wings rolled one leaf bit like a wagon wheel. Ants climbed aboard. A tiny fern uncurled in the shade. Pip grinned and made the next bite bigger, not for points, but for passengers. If you peek at the leaves in his mouth, can you guess where the next crunchy gift will fall?
