🎨 How to color it

Color the dragon mask jade green, the tall patterned horns sunny yellow, the cheek leaves lime, and the little lightning bolts bright gold. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the large eye rims and nose, then try a sharper crayon tip inside the small horn triangles and swirls. For a secret-night look, make the stars pale blue and add a soft purple shadow around the hearts.

Under the striped tents, Nixie rubbed a smooth pebble button in her pocket. She wanted to hang it on the moon-fair mask before the first drumbeat, but the button felt too plain beside the glitter paint and silver bells.

Then the sky made a tiny zzzt. Four storm sparks slipped under the tent, smelling like rain on warm stone. They circled the mask and whispered, “Name us.” Nixie’s knees tickled. She pressed the pebble to the mask’s brow and said, “Brave little thunder.”

The pebble flashed. Stars popped around the tent, hearts blinked bright, and the sparks settled into sharp golden marks. Ever since that night, dragon festival masks wear lightning bolts to remember the first small brave voice. Can you find where Nixie’s thunder chose to shine?
