🎨 How to color it

Color the stegosaurus spring green, the tall back plates sunny yellow, the leafy branch bright lime, and the rocks soft gray. Use chunky crayons for the big body and plates, and do not worry if little hands color over the bold black lines. Try making each tail spike orange, like tiny carrots hiding in the grass.

Under the hush-hush morning, Tula tiptoed through pebble meadow. Plip, plip went the dew on her back. She wanted to save every drop for the tiny beetles under the dry stones.

Psst—nobody knew this part. A cool leaf was tucked under Tula’s tallest plate, right where no one ever peeked. She slid it out and made a little cup. “Sip, small friends,” she whispered. Ever since, stegosaurus plates have stood up tall, with secret shady pockets for helping. Can you spot the tallest one?
