🎨 How to color it

Use chestnut brown for the squirrel, tan for the acorn cap, bright green for the meadow grass, and sunny yellow for the little daisies. The squirrel’s body and tail have big open spaces, so chunky crayons can make happy, easy fills without staying inside every line. Try making the tail two browns—one light stripe, one darker stripe—to show off all those fluffy curves.

Bram’s Whisper Acorn — Under the hush-hush bushes, Bram heard tap, tap, tap. He wanted to know who was knocking, so he sniffed the grass and rolled a fat acorn with both paws. Read the full story →

Under the hush-hush bushes, Bram heard tap, tap, tap. He wanted to know who was knocking, so he sniffed the grass and rolled a fat acorn with both paws.

“Who’s in there?” Bram squeaked. The acorn cap popped up—plink! Inside sat a tiny wind bell, silver and shy. It rang ding-ding in Bram’s paws, and the meadow grew quiet to listen.

Ever since, acorns have worn little caps to keep their secret bells safe. Next time you see Bram holding his acorn, can you spot the cap hiding the ding-ding?
