Before the roosters rattled the fence, Orlo rolled down flower lane with a tiny water tank bumping behind him. He wanted to give the moonflowers a drink before anyone saw their silver petals close. The path smelled like wet leaves, and the clouds sat low and quiet.
At the tallest daisies, his smokestack went pop-pop... then stopped. Orlo peeked inside and found a sleeping butterfly tucked where no one ever looked, its wings dusted with yellow pollen. “Oh! You need a safe ride,” he whispered. He opened his warm cab window, and the butterfly fluttered out to shake pollen over every thirsty moonflower.
Orlo gave away all his water anyway, one careful drip at a time. Nobody clapped. Nobody knew. But when he chugged home, his stack puffed one small heart into the morning. Ever since, little tractors make heart puffs when they help in secret—can you spot Orlo’s first one above flower lane?
