🎨 How to color it

Layer the princess’s crown in icy silver and sapphire, her flowing hair in pale ash blonde, the snowflakes in soft blue, and the crystal clusters in lavender-gray. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny filigree, working from the crown’s center snowflake outward so your hand does not smear the narrow curls and bead details. For a luminous twist, shade the circular halo from midnight blue at the edge to frosty turquoise near her face, leaving a few snowflake tips nearly white.

Under the blue hush of the frost archive, Elowen pressed warm wax with the little snowseal she had carved by hand, its ridges smelling faintly of cedar and metal filings. More seals followed across the vellum, each flake sharper than the last, until the lamplight made them seem to breathe. When she cleaned wax from the crown’s oldest central jewel, a tiny reverse pattern appeared inside it: the same six-armed star, waiting there for centuries. Elowen set her new seal beside the ancient one, and the room held both handprints in one quiet winter hush.
