Zip, zip, Tula ran over the soft snow hills. She had made a new game: chase each color in the sky before it slid away. Red! Hop! Yellow! Zoom! Her boots made crunch-crunch sounds.
The pine tree shook its snowy sleeves. Flakes twirled down, little white stars spinning fast. “My turn!” Tula called.
Then she stopped. The snowflakes were not falling down. They were racing up to the colors, playing the game backward.
Tula laughed and ran both ways in her mind: up with the flakes, down over the hills. Can you find the pine that watched her zip, zip?
