🎨 How to color it

Color the soccer ball in classic black and white, make the trophy cup bright gold, and give the side ribbons a bold royal blue. Use sharpened colored pencils for the narrow trophy panels and curled confetti, then switch to a marker for the wide ribbon tails. Try a secret-team look by adding tiny stripes or initials on the blank plaque at the base.

Under the indoor stadium, Soren polished shin guards until the rubber smell stuck to his hands. His helper badge hung plain and gray, so when a blue ribbon fluttered from the trophy-room door, he stepped out of the warm kit room to ask for one small strip.

The hallway lights buzzed like trapped bees. Soren followed the ribbon past locked lockers, losing his snack crackers through a hole in his pocket. In a dusty alcove, a silver moth landed on the tallest cup and tapped the blank plaque. “Read what is missing,” it whispered.

Soren rubbed the plaque. Letters appeared: FOR THE HANDS THAT READY THE GAME. He tied the ribbon not to his badge, but to both handles of the cup, and carried back a secret better than decoration: this place had room for helpers, too. Next time you see the curling streamers, check whether one is still pointing toward Soren’s name.
