🎨 How to color it

Color the winged mask in electric blue, the shield buckle in bright gold, the cape in deep violet, and the comets in sunset orange. Use sharp colored pencils for the cape swirls, tiny stars, and belt buttons, working from the outer edges of each pattern toward the middle. Try a pale lavender-to-navy background wash so the gold buckle and orange comets feel like they are glowing.

Before the moon lamps clicked on, Lena spread her new superhero things across the quiet supply loft and touched each star stitched on the cape. She had set herself a small challenge: count every glowing stitch before trying anything on. The cloth smelled like rain on warm stone, and the belt gave soft tick-tick answers when her pencil tapped the buckles.

She counted seventeen stars, three wing curls on the mask, and one shield on the belt. The cape rustled without wind. A comet-shaped thread near the collar brightened whenever she whispered the next number. “I can do one more,” Lena said, and her voice sounded tiny but steady among the shelves.

Then she noticed the stars were not only on the cape. They had blinked awake in the air above the belt, making a path from mask to buckle to hem, as if the costume had been counting her back. Lena slipped one finger under the cape clasp. The loft hummed like a faraway bell, and next time you spot the smallest star near the clasp, you may know which one Lena counted first.
