🎨 How to color it

Give the tall hero’s chest emblem a bright red, the waving porch flag red, white, and blue, the front door a deep navy, and the climbing vines leafy green. Use sharp colored pencils for the small mask shapes, belt pouches, flag stars, and mailbox number, then fill the porch boards with longer strokes that follow the wood grain. Try making each cape a different shade of the same color family, like sky blue, royal blue, and midnight blue, so the whole team still looks connected.

The story behind this coloring page

The Secret Under Forty-Two — The porch boards ticked under Rhea’s boots as she tapped the silent doorbell again. Nothing. Read the full story →

The porch boards ticked under Rhea’s boots as she tapped the silent doorbell again. Nothing. Not even a ding. The family signal practice was supposed to start before the flag shadows reached the steps, and Rhea wanted to be the one to make the chime ring first.

She slipped past the columns, down where the ivy smelled green and dusty, and checked the flowerpot, the welcome mat, and the crack beside the rail. A splinter nicked her thumb when she lifted a loose board. “Shh,” she whispered to her little brother, who had followed in squeaky sneakers. “This is official secret work.”

Then the mailbox with the number 42 gave a tiny clink. Inside, behind three old flyers, sat the missing chime button, wrapped in a note: FOR THE HERO WHO LOOKS WHERE MAIL SLEEPS. Rhea pressed it, and the porch rang bright as a spoon on glass. Everyone stepped into place like they had been waiting forever, and Rhea knew this creaky porch was headquarters. Next time you see that 42, you’ll know why the boards ticked under Rhea’s boots.
