🎨 How to color it

Try orange pumpkins, a rust-red fox, a warm brown beaver, a tan hedgehog, and golden yellow leaves on the quilt. Use chunky crayons to fill the big pumpkins and animal bodies first; staying inside every line is optional for little hands. Make the checkered blanket extra cheerful by alternating sky blue and cream squares.

Between round pumpkins, Pippa patted one leaf onto the quilt. Pat-pat! She wanted to make a leaf path all by herself.

The beaver bounced. The hedgehog wiggled. Pippa added another leaf, then another, across the soft squares. “I made it!” she yipped.

Then the wind went whoosh! The leaves did not run away. They twirled like tiny dancers on Pippa’s path.

So the three friends marched around her handmade trail, proud paws thump-thumping between round pumpkins. Can you find the twirly leaf that started the parade?
