Every morning, Bix the caramel cube sat square and still while the jar candies clinked, plink, plink, behind him. He wanted to keep his wiggly frosting stripe perfect, because it was the last squiggle his best friend had piped before moving to the high shelf. “No smudges,” Bix whispered, smelling vanilla and peppermint in the warm shop air.
Until one day, a wrapped taffy rolled over and tickled his corner. Because of that, Bix wobbled. Because of THAT, he slid bump-bump into two pillow candies, and his frosting stripe flopped onto the whole stack in a wild, sweet loop.
