🎨 How to color it

Color the big AMELIA letters cherry red, the biplane sunflower yellow, the clouds pale blue, and the little stars golden orange. Use sharp colored pencils for the rivets, struts, and narrow wing stripes, then fill the wide sky swoops with smooth marker strokes. Try shading the curved flight path from turquoise to deep blue so the plane looks like it just zipped through the name.

Under the attic eaves, Amelia kept a brass button in a matchbox and clicked it three times whenever the wind rattled the roof tiles. Click-click-click meant, Keep the scary sky out. But that morning the button grew warm and hummed like a tiny propeller. Then it rolled straight out the round window.

Amelia chased it onto the rooftop lane, where clouds smelled like cold cotton and arrows of wind pointed places nobody had written down. She had to trade her best licorice twist to a gull tollkeeper, and a passing biplane sneezed oily smoke into her braids. “Don’t tell the floor people,” whispered the pilot, “but some buttons are lost maps.”

The button stopped inside a cloud gap and popped open, showing a silver line home with every gust marked in dots. Amelia slipped it back into her matchbox, not to keep the sky out anymore, but to invite the next question in. If you trace the arrows around Amelia’s name, can you guess where the button wants to roll after click-click-click?
