Between the cold blue peaks, Elijah cupped his hands and invented a game called Echo Swap. He would call a silly sound across Sunrise Ridge—“Bloop-a-loop!”—and if the mountains tossed back a funnier one, he would leave a pebble on the flat rock as their prize.
