🎨 How to color it

Color the Elijah letters deep sky blue, the sunrise rays golden yellow, the mountain ridges slate gray, and the soaring bird warm chestnut. Use sharp colored pencils for the many thin mountain cracks, then switch to smooth marker fills inside the big rounded letters. Try fading the sky from peach near the sun to pale turquoise behind the clouds so the name feels lifted by morning light.

Between the cold blue peaks, Elijah cupped his hands and invented a game called Echo Swap. He would call a silly sound across Sunrise Ridge—“Bloop-a-loop!”—and if the mountains tossed back a funnier one, he would leave a pebble on the flat rock as their prize. The air smelled like pine needles and snow, and every shout came back wearing a wobbly mountain mustache.

Soon the pebbles were not where he had put them. One had hopped beside a tiny frost flower. Another sat on a ledge near a puddle shaped like a pancake. Elijah grinned and whispered, “Nice try, mountains.” He added his best treasures: a button, a twist of red string, and the last cinnamon crumb from his pocket.

Then a broad-winged cliff bird swooped from behind the clouds, carrying the red string in its beak. It tucked the string into a nest so small it looked like a teacup for thunder. Elijah laughed without making a sound and placed three more crumbs on the rock, then shouted one final “Bloop-a-loop!” Next time you see the bird by Elijah’s sunrise, see if you can spot the secret Echo Swap still happening among the cold blue peaks.
