Under the soft hush of the star orchard, Asher carried a little bowl to the name tree. The leaves made a papery swish-swish, and round berries smelled sweet as jam. He picked one berry, then two, then three, saving the shiniest ones for his friends at the moonpath gate.
More berries winked between the branches. Asher reached up and heard a tiny ting, like a spoon on a glass. A star had been hiding in a nest of leaves, bright and warm, making every berry glow from the inside. “Oh,” Asher whispered, “this is too much shine for one bowl.”
So he set the bowl beneath the branches, and the tree sprinkled starbright berries for everyone. If you follow the branches with your eyes, can you find where the first tiny ting was hiding?
