Boots thumping, Dax hopped onto the Lantern Stag’s little stage and plucked his lute: twang-twang-twang! He wanted a tune bright enough to start the moon feast, so every cup would clink and every bench would bounce. Warm cider smelled spicy by the barrel, and old cobweb curtains tickled the doorway. “Ready for something new?” Dax called.
The tavern spider, Bimble, tapped eight feet across the floor: tikka-tikka-tik! Each tap shook the cobwebs, and from the dusty swags came tiny silver bells no one had ever seen, hidden in the silk since the first feast. Ding! Dax laughed so loudly the rafters seemed to laugh back. Lute, feet, and secret bells made a song too big to keep, and soon everyone was clapping along. Next time you spot those web curtains, can you find where the moon feast was hiding its ding?
