🎨 How to color it

Use sunny yellow for the center star, sky blue for the big circle around it, cherry red for the squares, and grass green for the small circles. With chunky crayons, color one big shape at a time and don’t worry if little hands hop over the thick black lines. Try making every triangle around the middle alternate orange and purple, like a tiny parade marching in a ring.

Before snack, Pip tapped the floor: pat-pat, zoom! He wanted to touch every round, square, and pointy shape in the shape parade. The mat felt smooth and cool under his busy knees. “One more!” Pip called.

Round, square, point. Round, square, point. Then—ting!—the middle spark seemed to blink. Pip stopped. All the shapes were not waiting for him; they were making a path back to his toes.

So Pip patted slowly: pat... pat... pat. Snack smelled like apples. Next time you see the center spark, can you find Pip’s slow pat-pat, zoom?
