🎨 How to color it

Color the big center star in sunny yellow, sky blue, cherry red, and lime green sections, then make the small stars silver and the firework arcs purple and orange. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the wide stripe spaces, and don’t worry if little hands color over the thick black lines. For a fun twist, make each firework burst switch colors from its middle to its curved tips like a slow sparkle blooming outward.

Under the soft grass smell of Lantern Field, Lio set a little challenge: count every silent spark before making a wish. Pop went one firework, then shhh went its pale trails. Lio tapped a finger on a blanket corner. “One, two, three…” The big festival star above the field held still, bright and striped with moonlight, while tiny points winked around it.

More sparks opened slowly, like flowers made of light. Lio waited through the hush after each one, counting only when the last curve faded. Then a new sound came: tap, tap, tap from high above. The festival star was counting Lio’s patient breaths. When Lio finally whispered the wish, the star answered with one extra twinkle. Next time you see the little stars around it, can you guess which one kept Lio’s count?
