🎨 How to color it

Color the bright sun golden yellow, the moon silvery gray, the river sky blue, and the lion, elephant, giraffe, bear, deer, whale, dolphin, and fish in lively earth and ocean tones. Use sharp colored pencils for the small birds, flowers, star shapes, fish scales, and giraffe spots, then switch to broader strokes for the large water curves and open sky bands. Try making the day side warm with oranges and greens while the moon-and-stars corner fades into deep blue and violet.

The story behind this coloring page

Before sunrise, Neri pressed damp clay into a flat bowl and scratched a tiny river through the middle. Every day, he shaped one more piece of the world his teacher had named: a tree, a fish, a long-necked beast. But this morning his clay cracked dry, and the last space stayed empty. A white dove swooped onto the table, dropped a wet reed at his elbow, and cooed, “Come see.”

Neri ran after it past palms, pines, and flower banks bright with dew. Because he followed, he saw birds wheel between sun and fading moon. Because of that, he noticed how land and water curled together, with deer on one bank and a whale’s back rising like a hill in the sea. He hurried home, mixed reed-water into the clay, and shaped every creature with his own thumbs until the bowl felt alive. If you trace the winding river here, can you spot the path Neri made before sunrise?
