Every day, Noura tapped a blue chalk line in the sand so her cousins could follow the Nile bend to the palm snack spot. Tap, tap, swoosh! The warm dust smelled like bread from the village ovens. Until one day, the chalk line curled the wrong way and ended at the Sphinx’s huge stone paw.
Because of that, the camels stopped and snorted. Because of THAT, Uncle Sami lifted the paw’s shadowed edge and found a tiny folded note where nobody ever peeked. It said, “Snack spot moved. Too many ants. Try the best shade in Egypt!” Noura laughed so hard her scarf slipped. “Grandma!” she called. Under the palms waited dates, flatbread, and Grandma wearing her most innocent smile.
