🎨 How to color it

Color the Emily letters in soft lavender, the roses dusty pink, the daisies sunny yellow, and the feather quill pale teal. Use sharp colored pencils for the thin vine curls inside the letters and along the border, then fill the wider letter spaces with smooth, even layers. Try shading the flower cluster behind the Y a little darker so it feels like the name is growing out of a secret garden corner.

Under the glass roof, Emily carried a feather quill in her sleeve and a folded card in her pocket. The card held five careful letters she had practiced until her fingers smelled like walnut ink: E-M-I-L-Y. She wanted to write them in the greenhouse guest book before the moon orchids opened. Small secret: the guest book only accepted names that belonged there.

At the marble desk, the quill would not touch the page. It tugged her past fern pots, past damp bricks, to a blank stretch of wall where vines curled like listening ears. “Not there,” whispered a cricket from a seed tray. Emily pressed her card against the wall. The air turned green and cool. Roses climbed around the E, daisies winked beside the M, lavender spears stood guard near the I, and ivy hooked itself around the Y.

The quill scratched once, not on paper but in the living stems, and the letters settled as if they had been waiting for her all along. Ever since, greenhouse gates keep one leafy name to show whose hands first taught the vines where home was. If you trace the feather beside Emily, you may catch the same walnut-ink hush.
