🎨 How to color it

Color the apples ruby red, the banana bunch sunny yellow, the grapes deep purple, and the striped market awning in alternating teal and cream. Use sharp colored pencils for the basket’s woven strips and grape circles, then switch to broader marker strokes for the big apples and bananas. Try adding tiny golden highlights on the fruit as if the whole stand is catching late-morning market light.

The story behind this coloring page

Every market morning, Pip polished apples at Stall Seven until they shone like red buttons, then slipped the best bruised fruit into a plain basket for the hungry park rabbits. He worked fast, before the bell clanged and the air filled with peach smell, cart wheels, and “Two pears for a dollar!” Until one day, the plain basket began to giggle.

Because of that, Mrs. Voss accused the bananas of being rude. Because of THAT, three shoppers leaned over, and a grape rolled out wearing a paper hat that read: FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A SNACK. Pip went hot in the ears. Inside the basket, under apples and bendy yellow bananas, he found six tiny lunch bundles he had not packed.

Finally, Pip tucked them back and added his shiniest apple on top. “Nobody saw me,” he whispered, but the basket gave one last snort. Next time you spot the fat fruit basket, see if you can find where a mischievous gift might hide among the red buttons.
