🎨 How to color it

Use warm brown for the gravy, creamy white for the mashed potatoes, pumpkin orange for the bowl, and maple red for the leaf. For little hands, fill the big bowl and potato mound with chunky crayons first, and don’t worry if the gravy stream wiggles past the lines. Add a silly golden swirl on top of the potatoes where the gravy lands, like a tiny Thanksgiving puddle.

Every day, Nico tapped the gravy boat and said, “Too heavy!” Clink, clink, it smelled like warm onions.

Until one day, the bowl of potatoes went bump. Because of that, Nico peeked under the bowl. Because of THAT, a tiny maple leaf popped out and whispered, “Pour!”

Nico took one brave breath. Glug-glug! Gravy slid down like a brown slide. Everyone laughed when the leaf wore one shiny drop like a hat. Can you spot the sneaky leaf that made Nico say, “Too heavy!”?
