Pip leaned closer. The quiet bell smelled like cold snow and ribbon glue. He rolled it past the tree, under dangling snowflakes, and beside the holly rope. Still nothing. Then Pip tucked it onto the point of his hat and gave one tiny wiggle. Jingle-jiggle! The bell laughed so hard the others joined in.
